The one thing which unites opponents of LTNs is their total inability to suggest how they would tackle the issue of traffic on our roads; traffic which causes pollution, noise and danger to us all including drivers.
If they accept that it's time to address the increasing numbers of vehicles on our residential streets and main roads (for which there is compelling evidence eg the DfT's statistic that traffic on London's local roads increased by 72% between 2009 and 2019) but at the same time want to rip out all the LTNs which have been created over the past 2 years, what is their solution ? We'd be very keen to hear it.
We need to work together to find a better way to share our space and stop the environmental mayhem we've caused with our obsession with the internal combusion engine.
