Dear Neighbours
We hope you are all well and continuing to keep healthy and safe.
Today marks our last big push leafleting Barnsbury and St Mary's wards. We have delivered 10,000 leaflets, walked up and down hundreds of flights of stairs and hopefully reached the majority of residents in our neighbourhoods. Our next focus is to listen to local businesses and resident groups. So if you belong to one of these groups, or know someone who does, please point them in our direction - barnsburystmarys@gmail.com
Our Canonbury East neighbours are gearing up their People Friendly Streets campaign. They are looking for volunteers to deliver leaflets this coming week, so let us know if you fancy an invigorating walk in that neighbourhood!
Now that St Peter's People Friendly Streets have been up and running for 10 days, we have seen a big surge of feedback. Please make sure our voice is heard: take a look at the Council's Commonplace survey and add your 'likes' or comments. The more the merrier!
To us, it's a no-brainer that our streets should be safer and less polluted. We'll be publishing our Mythbusters post in the next week or so, to make sure that our responses on twitter and other social media are well informed. In the meantime, check out Rachael's post this week - did you know that there are 66% more pedestrians injured per-mile driven on minor urban roads, compared to each mile driven on urban A roads?
Carly, who drives a mobility scooter, has been getting loads of support from our neighbours. Lucy's post has been shared in the Islington Tribune and is all over twitter. Add your voice!
As ever, let us know what else you want to hear about, by emailing barnsburystmarys@gmail.com.
All our best
Barnsbury & St Mary’s Neighbourhood Group
