We hope you had a joyous holiday and a relaxing New Year's celebration. We wanted to give you a quick update regarding local Liveable Neighbourhoods.

No, you haven't missed the Bansbury & Laycock consultation, previously scheduled for “late 2024”. We’re disappointed to confirm that the Council postponed it with little fanfare last year. The website has now been changed to just “2025”. Councillors and officers, whilst stressing their commitment to implementing the BLLN, have often described this area as being large and complicated, so we think that explains the delay.

On a brighter note, we are delighted to report that the Mildmay Liveable Neighbourhood scheme was confirmed for implementation starting Autumm 2024. Changes have already started to appear. More information is available on the Council's website.

Also, the Caledonian Liveable Neighbourhood has been approved, with some changes based on the consultation. The Council says implementation will begin in the first few months of 2025.

The delay on the BLLN is disappointing, but the improvements this scheme promises for our community are still exciting and essential. We will keep you informed as soon as we receive further details from the Council. We will also be meeting regularly to ensure we're ready whenever the Council fires the starting pistol on the consultation. To join us and lend a hand in the preparations, please reply to this message.

Warm regards,
Barnsbury & Laycock Liveable Streets
